5.21How to identify swing trading opportunities
1What is it?
Swing traders look for stocks in a clear trend, then enter on a pullback to support or on a breakout above resistance, with a stop-loss below a recent low.
2Why does it exist?
Trading in the direction of the trend, with a defined stop, improves the odds and limits losses.
3Diagram
- 1Find an uptrend (higher highs/lows)
- 2Wait for a pullback to support or moving average
- 3Look for a bullish candle with volume
- 4Enter with stop below the recent low
- 5Target the previous high (risk:reward ≥ 1:2)
4Risks
- Patterns fail often; always use a stop.
- Overnight news can gap the price past your stop.

6Quick revision
